The Florida Educational Interpreter Evaluation (EIE) was developed as a result of a long term commitment by the Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the Department of Education (DOE) to assure the quality of educational interpreters in programs for hearing impaired students in the state by developing a process to evaluate educational interpreter’s skills. The EIE (developed by FRID in cooperation with the DOE and Miami Dade Community College Interpreter Training) is designed to assess the specific, unique competencies needed by educational Interpreters in a K-12 setting.

An Important message from EIE Chair, Sally King

The EIE is back and available to everyone who wants to test. We have a NEW STIMULUS AND INTERVIEW. Be sure to check out the Workshop Power Point to find out what's new it is located on the application page. Check out the FAQ's and download the Study Manual before applying for the test.

Note: EIE is not a certification, but a state level.
