Participants initiated non-RID activities are activities an interpreter/transliterator wishes to attend which are not offered by an RID approved sponsor. The activity must be sponsored by an organization with specific known standards, and must have a specific format, educational objectives, and purpose. Participant initiated non-RID activities include but are not limited to: auditing a college class, non-credit courses at an educational institution, corporate trainings, community education, school district in-service, and organizational conventions/workshops.
Forms must be submitted and approved by CMP coordinator prior to attending the activity.
Please fill out the Participant Initiated Non-RID Activity form, PINRA, and send it to the CMP Coordinator along with a description of the activity for approval. Upon receiving written approval from the CMP coordinator, you may attend the activity for CEUs.
Upon activity completion, forward a copy of the certificate of attendance or other proof of attendance to the CMP coordinator within 30 days of the activity date.
Upon receipt of the forms and documentation, the CMP coordinator will process and forward the forms to the RID national office for further processing and should be added to the participant's transcripts within 45 days.
