    FRID Annual Business Meeting

FRID is a membership driven organization. We need our members to continue to be engaged, involved and active. Please join us for our 2018 Annual Business Meeting (ABM), and help guide and shape the direction of FRID for the coming year. During the meeting, all Board members and Committee Chairs will be giving reports/updates on the work they have been doing, elections will be held for several positions, and the floor will be open for members to make motions. In addition, the Distinguished Service Award winner and scholarship award winners will all be announced. The FRID ABM is free and open to all. We ask that you kindly register to help us keep track of the number of members planning to attend, so we can arrange for food and beverages.

*Note: Registering for the ABM grants you access to that event only. To register for other events that weekend, see below:

The theme of FRIDCon 2018, Learn, Connect, Reflect, echos the dedication of our organization to keep striving towards a better future, keeping in mind that we are stronger when we work together. No one person has the power to bend steel with their bare hands, or to single handedly save the world. Together, however, we can create a community of superheroes to transform the destiny of our future.  We hope you share this mission and want to align yourselves with this worthy endeavor.

This year, FRIDCon will focus on power, privilege and oppression. We will have several workshops delving into these topics, a panel discussion, and three FRIDTalks by presenters who will share their own views, insights and experiences with power, privilege and oppression. The night will close with FRID's annual event, a FRIDtastic Evening, where awards will be given and there will be performances by Joel Ortiz, a deaf performance artist. It will be an action packed weekend that you won't want to miss!
